Agricultural Performance
SuSo® has undergone rigorous testing by leading agricultural research institutions. The results demonstrate superior performance across multiple metrics compared to commercial alternatives.
Field Trials BGI Part Of Biomass Connect
Bio Global Industries Ltd (BGI) is one of Europe's most extensive privately owned biomass crop research and soil health companies who has devoted years to enhancing agricultural profitability through research and development.
Now part of the ‘Biomass Connect’ project, (a UK Government-funded initiative aiming to accelerate the commercialization of clean energy technologies) BGI brings together a vast knowledge base of forestry and soil health with a plantation of over 1,500 trees, including Poplar, Eucalyptus and Willow.
In collaboration with Rothampstead Research Institute BGI has access to the UK’s National Willow Collection of 1,500 accessions and over 100 pure species of Salix.
BGI and the team at the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) have completed independent growth trials, comparing SuSo® to commercial peat-free compost – they found:
Superior germination rates versus commercial alternatives
Successful cultivation of tomatoes, peppers, and microgreens
Enhanced plant vigor and disease resistance
Suitable for organic production systems
BIO Global Industries LTS (BGI)
BGI has one of the largest experimental biomass plantations in Europe, using innovation to increase crops with minimal and no chemicals.
They have a large selection of willow and poplar species planted in a trial bed established 10 years ago. Eucalyptus, switchblade, canary grass, miscanthus, are also established in the plantation.
Biomass Connect is a UK Government demonstration and knowledge-sharing initiative to showcase best practice and innovations in land-based biomass feedstock production.
Cawood Agriculture Laboratory Analysis
Cawood is the UK’s leading scientific group, recognised for its technical capability and value-added service to customers. Cawood provide laboratory analysis to the agriculture, food and environmental sectors.
Cawood performed Laboratory Test H001 Compost - Compost Suite (for Growing media) on a range of samples of wildfire damaged timber. The H001 test extraction in accordance with BSEN13040 2000 [1:5] Includes tests for Dry Matter, Bulk Density, Dry Density, pH, Conductivity, Nitrate-N and Ammonium-N with calculated soluble N, Chloride, Sulphate, Potassium, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Calcium, Sodium, Iron, Manganese, Zinc, Copper and Boron.
A comprehensive chemical analysis by Cawood confirmed the SuSo® properties:
